Brian Vincent - Cataract Surgery

I am 47-years-old and have worn thick glasses since I was 7-years-old. Furthermore, several years ago, my eye doctors began telling me I had cataracts and I began to notice that, even though I had new glasses, I was still having difficulty seeing clearly. I was initially apprehensive about having my eyes operated on, but, after almost failing the eye test to renew my driver's license and after realizing that stronger lenses were not going to solve the problem, I decided that I had to take the leap and have cataract surgery.

Dr. Jeffrey Wong did an excellent job of explaining the risks and benefits of the surgery and what to expect during the surgery and recovery.  However, I was pleasantly surprised that the surgery was even more painless and quick than I had expected and I was able to resume most of my normal activities the next day.  And, of course, the improvement in my eyesight is dramatic.  Whites appear whiter and my distance vision is 20/20.  My peripheral vision even seems better than when I wore contacts.  Finally, it is really nice not having to deal with the hassle of glasses and contacts (especially when surfing) and I anticipate that the savings from not having to buy new glasses and contacts every few years will eventually pay back the cost of the surgery.

All in all, experiencing the benefits of having cataract surgery makes me wish in retrospect that I had had the surgery done a couple of years earlier.  Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend the surgery and am extremely happy with Dr. Wong and the other doctors and staff at Honolulu Eye Clinic.
