Patient Testimonials - Before and After Pictures

Larry Geller - strabismus surgery

I should have had strabismus surgery years ago. In exchange for a few hours, my double vision, difficulty while driving, and problems reading a book or a newspaper completely disappeared. Dr. Rupa Wong performed the surgery at the Queens outpatient facility.

Before the surgery she carefully explained the procedure and gave me an information packet, so there were no surprises and no anxiety. I knew that the surgery would be outside the eye, and that she would fine-tune it with an adjustable suture which would later dissolve and disappear.

Knowing that Dr. Wong has performed the same surgery many times before was a comfort.

When I woke up after the surgery, I could see immediately that my problem was solved. I saw one of everything, not two. After Dr. Wong adjusted the suture, my vision was even more precise. More important, I was comfortable for the first time in years. It had been a constant struggle to see clearly, and that struggle was now gone.

At home I had eye drops to put in, but that was it. One of the first things I did was go for a walk outside in a garden. I discovered I was at ease, able to enjoy the walk because I could easily see everything around me without struggling to get single vision. I can't remember when that had been possible before.

I had been putting the surgery off, and now I can't understand why. It was uncomplicated, expertly performed, and my vision is greatly improved.
