Kalli Hirasa, O.D. is a licensed optometrist, with a specialty in pediatrics and vision therapy. She is originally from Mililani, HI and has always dreamed of returning home to Oahu to start her optometric career. At the young age of four, she received her first pair of glasses from her pediatric ophthalmologist and this visit would spark her love for eye care, specifically pediatric optometry. She graduated with honors from Mililani High School and summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. She continued at Pacific University College of Optometry and earned her doctorate in optometry as the valedictorian of her class.
Dr. Hirasa has extensive experience through clinic rotations and externship sites specializing in pediatrics and vision therapy. At the end of her fourth year, Dr. Hirasa was awarded the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy, which is awarded to a COVD student member who demonstrated a strong interest and excellent clinical skills in the area of vision therapy. She has seen the impact that binocular vision testing and vision therapy can have on an individual’s academic, social, and personal life, and therefore is passionate about bringing awareness and access to these services in Hawaii.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching YouTube and Netflix videos, going to the beach, all things music related, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
