LASIK/Refractive Consultations
Patients looking to reduce or eliminate their dependence on contact lenses or glasses should begin with a refractive consultation. We can look at the eye’s errors and assess how well refractive surgery will improve vision if patients choose to see it through. We will also check to see if you have any contraindications, including inadequate corneal thickness or dry eye.
Cataract Evaluations
If you’re over 60 and are experiencing changes in your vision, you might have cataracts. Symptoms often include:
- Glare or Haloes Around Light Sources
- Blurry Vision
- Yellowing of Colors
- Skewed or Double Vision in a Single Eye
If you have some or all of these symptoms, we can perform a cataract evaluation to see what’s causing your vision problems. If you do have cataracts, then you don’t need to worry, because cataract surgery today is greatly improved over methods from 20+ years ago. Modern cataract removal methods make cataract surgery one of the safest and most effective procedures in modern medicine, restoring and improving vision with an extremely low risk of complications.
Glaucoma Evaluation
Glaucoma is a disease that acts slowly and can cause permanent and irreversible blindness if left untreated. We can determine whether or not you have glaucoma, and we can provide you with a number of treatment options to treat glaucoma if you do have it. Although there is no cure for glaucoma, it can be treated effectively enough to prevent vision loss for the vast majority of patients.
